Yesterday afternoon, police found about 150 dead dogs in freezers in the basement of a Michigan house. There were also 110 live dogs, all Chihuahuas, who were rescued by police officals and Dearborn Animal Shelter earlier this week. Dearborn Animal Shelter is constantly updating their media section when new information is released from the police.

The media kit states that Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad believes there are “3-5 more dogs inside as of 2 p.m. Friday” and that this case is a “criminal investigation based on animal cruelty laws…” punishable by four years imprisonment.

Dearborn Animal Shelter spoke to FOX News Detroit. So far, none of the Chihuahuas are up for adoption until they are completely assessed. It seems the dogs are doing well, though many of them are frightened. The shelter has been receiving phone calls from people who are willing to adopt the Chihuahuas.

Currently, the shelter is in need of donations to continue their great care for the Chihuahuas. If you’d like to donate online, you can do so through their website or send a monetary donation to 2661 Greenfield Road, Dearborn, MI, 48120.
