Dorothy Dickson, 75, was dragged on the floor by two aggressive Rottweilers while taking her small dog out for a daily walk in south Belfast, UK. BBC reported that Dickson may not have had a chance if it weren’t for a group of men who saw the incident.
The men tried to save Dickson and “beat away the dogs with a bottle.” (BBC)
A spokesperson for Belfast City Council said they, “are not able to seize dogs without a warrant and therefore work with the PSNI on this issue.” However, they will work hard to “prosecute the dog owner.”
Once again, it’s a shame when dog owners don’t know how to handle their dogs. Rottweilers are very gentle. Hopefully, Dorothy Dickson is recovering well.
