The Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association (JAVMA) published an article that suggested pet owners were more likely to make a veterinary appointment for their dog, rather than their cat. DVM360’s Veterinary Team reported that the article showed 33 percent of pet owners with at least one dog and one cat thought it was “more important to take their dog” rather than their cat for an annual check-up.
In the United States, only 10 percent of cats have pet insurance, according to a statistic provided by the North American Pet Health Insurance Association. Cats are notoriously known to hide their illnesses.
It’s imporant to schedule an appointment with your pet’s vet twice a year. Blood work and test examinations can get pricey, so a good pet insurance comes in handy.
