Artist, Amelia Santiago of Portland, Oregon has a unique trade. By using the technique of needle felting, she creates wool fiber sculptures of dogs through her website Dog Art Portraits. The miniature sculptures are made of 100 percent wool fiber and no two sculptures look alike because it’s all hand crafted by Amelia. In the past three years, Amelia has created over 300 portraits for clients all around the world.

The minature sculptures are called doppelgangers and her clients, the majority being dogs, but occassionally cats, rabbits and horses, rave about their identical mini-me.

How it works:
Fill out a form on the Dog Arts Portraits website, giving your pet’s demographics, and including your dog’s picture as a guide. You pay a 50 percent deposit, which is reasonable because Amelia makes everything by hand, and then she’ll contact you with the estimate arrival date.
