This shocked me. Vindy broke news that the Pastor of an East Western Reserve Road church has been charged guily with animal cruelty. Timothy L. Hayes, 35, was caught when police were called to check on four dogs by an anonymous worried neighbor.

When police arrived on the scene, it was clear that the animals were not properly taken care of. There was one doghouse for the three dogs to share and the fourth dog was “locked in a breezeway.”

The neighbor confirmed that he/she had been taking care of the three dogs that were outside, but it was the welfare of the fourth hidden dog that worried him/her.

Joe Borosky with Animal Charity was called onto the scene, and he announced that the three dogs had to be euthanized because they were “unhealthy” and “suffered from general lack of care and unhealthy.”

Here’s my problem though. I don’t understand why the three dogs were euthanized. Borosky gave an extremely vague medical history and the neighbor stated that the three dogs were being taken care of, yet, the fourth dog in the breezeway was kept alive.

I smell something fishy…

Yesterday afternoon, police found about 150 dead dogs in freezers in the basement of a Michigan house. There were also 110 live dogs, all Chihuahuas, who were rescued by police officals and Dearborn Animal Shelter earlier this week. Dearborn Animal Shelter is constantly updating their media section when new information is released from the police.

The media kit states that Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad believes there are “3-5 more dogs inside as of 2 p.m. Friday” and that this case is a “criminal investigation based on animal cruelty laws…” punishable by four years imprisonment.

Dearborn Animal Shelter spoke to FOX News Detroit. So far, none of the Chihuahuas are up for adoption until they are completely assessed. It seems the dogs are doing well, though many of them are frightened. The shelter has been receiving phone calls from people who are willing to adopt the Chihuahuas.
