Purina® Pro Plan® Rally to Rescue® is holding a contest called “Doing More™ for Pets” Rescue Stories Contest. All you have to do is submit a photograph of the pet and write an essay (250 or less) describing how, “within the past two years, the Rescue Ambassador rescued a dog or cat, cared for the animal, and prepared it for adoption.”

The Grand Prize winner will receive $5,000 worth of Purina® Pro Plan® brand Pet Food in manufacturer’s coupons. The winner, alongside the winning pet, will also receive a 4-day, 3-night trip to Oaks, Pennsylvania to attend the 2009 Kennel Club of Philadelphia and National Dog Shows on Saturday, November 14th and Sunday, November 15th, 2009.

If you’d like to enter, you can do so until 11:59:59 A.M CT on Friday, October 30, 2009.

Purina® Pro Plan® Rally to Rescue® is on the road again and they may be coming to your neighborhood! This is an amazing organization because they focus on smaller pet rescue organizations that don’t receive as many donors and adopters as commercial, famous animal organizations.

Rally to Rescue® knows it’s not about how big a shelter is, but how many animals they can help adopt to loving families. They not only help animals find a home, but they also provide the nutrition that dogs need to stay healthy, balanced and happy.

Since 2005, they’ve helped more than 227,000 animals find homes and this year, they’re determined to help shelters home over 300,000 especially during this recession.
